Jennifer Chenevert: Jewelry
Jenn first discovered the thrill of jewelry making while at Destrehan High School where she learned the basic skills of soldering, piercing, filing and stone setting. She went on to get a BFA in Studio Arts with a concentration in Sculpture/
Metals from LSU in Baton Rouge. Over the years she has honed her skills apprenticing to and working for various goldsmiths, enamelist and silversmiths. Jennifer now has her own line of jewelry.
Jennifer is a sixth generation New Orleanian who finds the city teeming with inspiration. Vibrant movement and energy everywhere in the city; from the peeling paint on an old shot- gun house to the wrought iron spirals and the music that can always be heard, infuses her work with the same energy by using color and kinetic pieces. She is interested in making jewelry that is inviting to the touch and making fun, playful, wearable objects.
