Teri Walker and Chad Ridgeway: Glass

Teri and Chad began RidgeWalker Glass nearly three years ago with the desire to create glass sculpture which reflected their whimsical way of life and surroundings. Teri began blowing glass 20 years ago at Ontario College of Art and then attended the masters program at RISD (Rhode Island School of Design). Arriving 14 years ago as the artist in residence at New Orleans School of Glassworks she taught glassmaking to all ages. Chad’s creative path began in the kitchen, first in Kansas, then New Orleans, and culminating as a chef in Paris, France, for 10 years. While abroad his self-expression broadened: he trained in metal- smithing, sculpture and foundry work. When Teri and Chad met and fell in love in New Orleans they inevitably decided to combine their creative forces. They recreate the world as they see it, drawing inspiration from the culture and wildlife of Southern Louisiana. Combining glass and metal, their whimsical, one-of-a-kind sculptures draw on the many traditions and costumes of Mardi Gras and New Orleans.
